How to make a seed bomb
Making seed bombs is a mindful and enjoyably messy process.
You’ll need:
1 part wildflower seeds (collect these locally from dried wildflower seed heads in early autumn)
4 parts peat-free compost
2 parts powdered clay (you can get this from art/craft shops)
Mush these ingredients together with water - warm water is recommended on a chilly day - and then roll the mix into balls. After drying out for a few days, the balls will be ready to be thrown around. Cathartic!
If you’re in an area which is sprayed with glyphosate (sadly and unbelievably most of us still are) then try to find out-of-the-way corners that might escape the weedkiller’s lethal sweep. Green and brown roofs work well.
